Taekwondo (also written as "tae kwon do", "taekwon-do" or "t'aegwondo") is a modern martial art from Korea that is characterised by its fast, high and spinning kicks. "While taekwondo is about kicking, blocking and punching, it is not just a physical sport or discipline - you have to exercise your mind as well as your body."
Q. I want to come and see what Daenamoo Taekwondo is all about. Where are you located and how can I start?
A. Our club is currently located at the Burpengary Community Hall, 101 Station Road, Burpengary (next to the Burpengary Public Library). Our Students come primarily from the surrounding suburbs, including Burpengary, Morayfield, Caboolture, Deception Bay, Narangba and Redcliffe.

Q. What do you teach children as young as 5 years?
A. For children of that age we create a fun environment where games of balance ; co-ordination and concentration are played out and then they are helped to understand the aspect of respect , control and anger. eg: Concentration , How many times have you said to your children "will you just sit still for 5 minutes and be quiet". Well that's part of what I teach them to do and I have plenty of parents to back me up on that one.
Q. What are your class times?
A. Please see the contacts page for up to date class times.
Q. I do not have good balance and I am not well coordinated, will this be a problem?
A. No, not at all. Even as adults its amazing how uncoordinated we can be. This is very common, yet everyone thinks they are the only one. If you allow yourself some time we will show you just how easy it can be. Once past that stage it gets a little easier.
Q. What is a warm up?
A. A warm up is done at the beginning of every class, this is simply a set of low impact exercises which helps the body to warm up and become more pliable. Understanding the importance of how to warm up is very important and this is emphasized throughout all sessions.
Q. I did Martial Arts ten years ago. Can I start in the more advanced class?
A. Not straight away. For the first month, your ability is carefully assessed before progressing on to more advance training. There is a set routine for all beginners, male or female, no matter how fit or strong you may be.
